Winifred Walsh (Winnie), age 94, resident of the Wellington Senior Living, passed away on May 27th. Winnie was a native of Syracuse, New York. She followed her daughters to Minnesota after the death of her husband William, residing first in Duluth and then in Saint Paul.
Winnie was a graduate of Eastwood High School and attended Syracuse University, with a theatre major. Prior to her marriage, she was employed by New York Telephone Company. She married William J Walsh in 1950 (deceased) and is survived by her daughters Patricia Partridge (Mark Gerlach) and Laura Mix (Greggory Mix).
History, current events, movies, her daughters and grandchildren were always of great interest to her. She loved to travel and see the world: travelling to Europe, Bosnia, Scandinavia, Israel and Egypt in her later years.
In addition to her daughters, she is survived by grandchildren Emma Partridge, Jeffrey Gerlach, Kelsey Mix and Andrew Mix (Carla). She is predeceased by her granddaughter Kelsey Gerlach.
Winnie was a communicant of Lumen Christi Catholic Church in Saint Paul.
Her family would like to acknowledge and thank all of the staff at the Wellington for their care and commitment to Winnie over the last several years, especially from Mary, Robin and Maria. In addition, the hospice staff at Interim including Brenda, Sharon and Rachael were a source of great comfort to Winnie and her family over the last several months.
A family service will be held on June 3rd.
