William (Willie) Joseph Daily’s soul left the confines of this earth September 23rd, 2022 and transcended farther beyond to a more peaceful existence. He is no longer troubled by any of this world’s physical limitations. Willie was born on May 19, 1991 at St. John’s Hospital in Maplewood, Minnesota. He grew up in Roseville and received excellent special education services in many different schools throughout the Twin Cities metro area.
The bulk of Willie’s life was spent living at home with his family, but the last 2 1/2 years he moved into a Northeast Residence group home. His angelic staff at Northeast made Willie feel welcomed, wanted, and part of the group. Throughout Willie’s life he was loved by many caregivers, multiplying his family membership along the way.
Cola flavored drinks, long automobile rides, therapeutic horseback riding, special needs ministry, and Friday community dances were his favorite things in life. He adored animated videos – his favorites being Disney, Thomas the Tank Engine, and Christmas fare. He also loved listening to the musical recordings from those videos on his iPad.
Willie was small in stature but mighty. Willie’s superpower was making people adore him. His roguish smile captured hearts. He possessed facial hair that seemed to grow before one’s very eyes. He miraculously rebounded physically from many, many hospital stays. Twice his ambulatory skills were compromised but he regained his ability to walk through grit and determination. Willie was extremely kind in demeanor. Even though he couldn’t speak, it never meant he had nothing to say. His facial expressions spoke volumes.
Willie was preceded in death by his grandparents Joseph Connelly, Carl Daily, and Alice Daily. He is survived by his grandmother Karen Connelly, father Kelly Daily, mother Theresa Daily, older brother Adam Daily, younger sister Sara Daily, and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Willie will be missed, but never forgotten.
Visitation Tuesday, October 4 from 12-2pm at the Roseville Memorial Chapel, 2245 Hamline Ave. N., with memorial service starting at 2pm.
