Obituary

Virginia Asmus (Wendelschafer) left this troubled world on the 24th of April, after a lingering illness at the age of 92.  She leaves behind to mourn: her husband, Maynard, of 73 years married and together for over 75 years; her sons, Tom (Joan) of Woodbury, MN and Marc (Helena) of Stillwater, MN and two grandchildren, Geoffrey (Erin) of New York city, NY and Doctor Physical Therapy, Jillian (Doctor Physical Therapy, Jamie) of Wenatchee, WA.

Ginny was a talented oil painting artist, and her paintings are noted throughout her Roseville home.  But her real passion was found in her unshakable love and faith in Jesus Christ and the Christian religion.  It was a big part of her life and allowed her to accept the reality of day-to-day living and prepared her for her own death.  She will be missed by old friends and neighbors and cousins, nieces and nephews.  When you reach the age of 92 years old, there aren’t too many left.  Following Maynard’s death, their ashes will be mixed and interned at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. The Celebration of Eternal Life will be at Gathering Place Lutheran Ministries, 3245 New Brighton Rd., Arden Hills, MN, on Monday May 22nd at 4:00 PM. The family would like any memorials to go to the Gathering Place Lutheran Ministry.
