Kuenkel, Victoria M. “Vickie "
age 98, of Roseville, MN, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 12, 2025.
Vickie was born June 6, 1926, to Reyes and Mary in St. Paul, MN.
Vickie had a unique gift for making people of all ages feel valued and special. Her warmth, wisdom and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know her.
Her husband, Jerry came into her life when they met while working together.
As a wife, she shared 37 years with her best friend, Jerry. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Vickie and Jerry found joy in the simple pleasures of life which included lively conversations about their days, dinners out at their favorite spots like Diamond Jim’s supper club or Rax Roast Beef, and cozy evenings at home with take out. Side by side, they enjoyed working to update and improve their homes, pouring love into every detail. Their partnership was a testament to mutual respect, shared dreams, and an unwavering bond.
As a mother, she raised three children with love, compassion, and dedication, instilling values to guide them through life. She was also a proud grandmother to six grandsons and a beloved great grandmother to her four great-grandchildren, all which brought her immense joy and pride.
She delighted in spending time with the children in her life teaching them songs and games like Chinese checkers, and creative spelling games. Her family was her joy and support. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth, laughter, and cherished memories.
Even at 98, Vickie lived independently, showing resilience and grace. She found joy in many things, like McDonalds coffee with family, a daily or often more frequent ritual that became a quiet moment of connection. She enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, playing solitaire, and having friends over for pie and coffee. She was always with a sharp mind, phenomenal memory, and kind heart.
Her presence and wisdom will remain a guiding force in the lives of those who knew her. She was a true example of a life well lived, filled with love, learning and connection.
Survived by her children: John(Karen), Mary(Dan), Lisa(Ted); six grandsons: Sam(Sarah), Brad(Krista), Greg(Hannah), Kyle, Isaac, Owen; four great-grandchildren: Tyler, Savannah, Gabriella, and Allan; niece and nephew; along with many other family, neighbors, and special friends who adored her.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband Jerome, her parents Reyes and Mary, her brother Raymond and sister-in-law Hazel, her infant brother Maurice, and her dear friends who welcomed her into eternal peace.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, and the many people whose lives she touched.
