Todd Allan Blatchford

Todd Allan Blatchford passed away unexpectedly due to complications from treatment for Acute Myeloid Leukemia on August 17, 2025, after a courageous battle. He will be remembered for embracing life to the fullest with positivity. Todd was born June 14, 1967, the son of Dewey and Ginger Blatchford. He graduated from high school in Cherokee, Iowa in 1985. Todd attended Iowa State University and graduated with a degree in engineering. This year, he celebrated his 35-year work anniversary with 3M.

His greatest joy in life was his family. On September 7th, 1991, he married the love of his life Sonya Ott. They were blessed with two children, Taylor and Riley. He always said his number one priority was his girls.

Todd was larger than life and made friends everywhere he went. He enjoyed Grilln’ and Chilln’, taking his Chevy Nova out for a spin, hunting, fishing, traveling, and most of all spending time with his family and friends. He was full of one-liners, always had a smile on his face, and could be recognized immediately by his laugh. And on Sunday’s he’d watch the Vikings play football on the Big Screen TV.

Todd is proceeded in death by his father, Dewey Blatchford.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Sonya Blatchford; children: Taylor (Hansen Estrada) Blatchford and Riley (Tristan) Sanderson; mother, Ginger Blatchford; sister, Peggy (Terry) Meyers; and all his nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, August 28th, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church (4125 Woodbury Dr. Woodbury, MN), with a visitation at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will take place Wednesday August 27th, 2025, from 4-8:00 p.m. with a vigil service at 7pm at O’Halloran & Murphy Funeral Home (8700 Valley Creek Rd Woodbury, MN). Burial service will take place in Greene, IA at a later date, to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the family for later distribution to a charity for cancer patients in Todd’s honor.

Memorial Mass will be on Friday, October 3, 2025 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greene, Iowa at 11:00 a.m. with Burial Service to immediately follow at the St. Mary's Cemetery in Greene.
