Age 94 of Saint Paul, MN
Passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of May 30, 2026, as the songs of chirping birds gently led him “somewhere over the rainbow.” Born Phillip Timothy on May 1, 1932, in St. Paul, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jane (Cassidy) and Daniel Kenney; and his six siblings: Patricia, John, Tom, Bob, Dave, and Jim.
Tim is survived by his “Lovely Bride” of 69 years, Dolly (Florence Inserra); devoted son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Cathy; and his cherished grandchildren and their spouses: Erin (Chris Fete), Timothy (Michelle), Mary (Zach Dickson), Rachel (fiancé Jesse Novak), Danielle, and August (fiancée Elizabeth). He was also a proud Great-Papa to eight great-grandchildren, and dearly loved by many family and friends.
Tim lived a life rooted in faith, family, kindness, and love. He will be remembered for his gentle nature, quick wit, and the warmth he extended to everyone he met. He had a one-liner for every occasion and a remarkable gift for making people feel seen and welcome. Tim and Dolly were blessed with countless lifelong friends, a true reflection of his loyalty and genuine care for others. He often became a father figure or surrogate grandpa to those lucky enough to know him, offering steady encouragement, wise advice, and a constant willingness to show up when it mattered most. He never lost his sense of humor and continued to bring smiles to the caring staff at Carondelet. The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff for their exceptional care and kindness, among them Leona, Ava, and Ana.
His loved ones will forever cherish hearing, “Have I told you lately that I love you?” and laughing at his classic, “While you’re up…”-said when you were both already comfortably seated.
Visitation will be Friday, June 12, 9:00-10:00 AM at Lumen Christi Catholic Church, (2055 Bohland Ave, St. Paul, MN), followed by a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial and luncheon.
