Texas Elbert “Tex” Reardon, Jr., age 93, of Roseville, Minnesota, went peacefully to be with the Lord on December 19, 2025.
Born on December 10, 1932, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Tex was the son of Texas Elbert Reardon, Sr. and Sarah McCullough Reardon. He graduated from Tulane University with a Bachelor of Business Administration and served honorably in the United States Air Force before beginning his career in business.
Tex married his first wife, Marjorie Lewis Reardon, in 1952, and together they built a loving, faith-centered home and raised four children. Marjorie predeceased him in 1998. Tex later married Sandra Lee Reardon in 2000.
During the early years while his children were young, Tex was active in the community. He participated in the Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees) in St. Augustine, supported his sons in Boy Scouts, and coached little league baseball, sharing his time, guidance, and encouragement with young people. He also served his church faithfully, including as the Chairman of the Deacons at First Baptist Church in West Palm Beach.
Tex spent more than three decades serving with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, where he worked in various leadership roles including Crusade Director, Administrative Director of NACIE (North American Conference for Itinerant Evangelists), and Interim Vice President of Crusades. He contributed to numerous crusades and international ministry events. His work took him across the United States and around the world, including participation in the historic International Conferences for Itinerant Evangelists held in Amsterdam—1983, Amsterdam ’86, and Amsterdam 2000—where global gatherings of evangelists convened under Billy Graham’s vision to spread the Gospel throughout the world. These experiences were among the highlights of his professional and spiritual life. Tex also assisted in preparations for Pope John Paul II’s 1987 ecumenical visit to Columbia, South Carolina.
After retiring from BGEA in 2005, Tex continued ministry work with Ruth Graham & Friends. Throughout his life, he was known for his humility, devotion, leadership, and deep commitment to sharing God’s love.
Tex was preceded in death by his first wife, Marjorie, and son, Theado Lewis Reardon.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Lee Reardon; his son, Texas Elbert Reardon III, and his wife, Melissa; his son, Anthony Paul Reardon, and his wife, Deline; his daughter, Tracy Kathleen Reardon; and his stepson, Todd Holen, and his wife, Karin.
He is also survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren who were a constant source of joy and pride to him.
His grandchildren include Amanda Tracy Bernhardt and her husband, Rick, and their sons, Connor and Carson; Texas Elbert Reardon IV and his wife, Whitney, and their daughters, Adileigh and Abigail; Sarah Margaret Collins and her husband, Justin; Casey Marie Reardon; and Thaddeus Peter Reardon.
Tex will be remembered for his deep faith, his devotion to his family, and the genuine kindness he extended to everyone he met.
In accordance with his wishes, no funeral service is planned. He will be interred at Ft. Snelling in Minnesota.
