Terrance "Terry" Boyd

Terrance “Terry” Boyd, age 85, of St. Paul, MN, and previously of Round Rock, TX, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025, with the love of his life Jan, by his side. Terry was born to Ruth and Milton Boyd in Aberdeen, SD on May 14,1940. Born with only one good lung, doctors gave Terry to the age of one to live. His family moved to St. Paul when he was an infant, where he’d go on to prove the doctors wrong. He graduated from Saint Paul Central High School and Dunwoody Institute and worked at 3M as a mechanical draftsman for 32 years, retiring in 2001.

Terry met Jan on a blind date in March of 1962. They married shortly after, on August 10, 1963. They raised their two daughters in St. Paul and were longtime, active members of Fairmount Avenue UMC. In 1989, they moved to Round Rock TX as part of a 3M transfer. In 2021 they moved back to St. Paul to be closer to family and made their home at Lexington Landing where they have made many new friends. Terry loved to watch all sports, and especially loved playing golf, even reaching every golfer’s dream of a hole-in-1 at San Luis Rey Downs in 2007. While golf was his favorite to play, he loved watching them all and passed that love on to his family through his daughters, who are avid MN sports fans. He also loved to watch his grandsons compete, whether in team sports, scrappy yard games, or a family card game.

Terry is survived by his wife Jan, of just days shy of 62 years; daughters Stacey (Robert) Boucher and Debbie (Randy) Lindstrom; brother Rick (MaryEllen) Boyd; grandsons Andrew and Ryan Boucher, Riley, Evan and Jayden Lindstrom; cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday August 27 at Fairmount Avenue United Methodist Church. Visitation at 4pm, service at 5pm, with dinner reception to follow. Memorials to Fairmount Avenue UMC or the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
