Died June 12. Sue was born in St. Paul on September 19, 1932. She spent her childhood and youth in Duluth and Dilworth before moving to Minneapolis, where she graduated from Washburn High School. Sue then attended the University of Minnesota, completing a degree in education. Upon graduation, she taught second grade at Elliot Elementary School in Richfield for several years. Sue married the love of her life, Earl, in 1959.  She then joined him as a devoted teacher with the Roseville school district, teaching special education at several elementary schools, including E.D. Williams, Central, and Lake Owasso. With Earl and their children, Sue was a long-time member at Presbyterian Church of the Way where she was an ordained deacon, taught Sunday school and served on many commissions and at special events. Spare time was spent enjoying friends and family, book clubs, travel with Earl, genealogy and the cabin on South Twin. 

Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Jean Sanders, and her husband Earl. She is survived by her two children, Mike (Susan) and Kathy Waite (Jeff); Sue’s brother Pat Sanders, sister Nancy Aronson; two granddaughters; two step-granddaughters; and two great step-grandchildren. 

On Thursday, June 30, a visitation will be held beginning at 9:30 AM with a memorial service at 11 AM at Presbyterian Church of the Way (3382 Lexington Ave N., Shoreview). The service will be livestreamed on the church’s YouTube channel. Memorials may be sent to Presbyterian Church of the Way or the Minnesota Historical Society.
