Steven Todd Haley

Steven Todd Haley, of St. Paul, MN, died peacefully at home on Monday morning June 29, 2020, after a brief, bravely fought battle with a rare cancer. Steve was born on January 8, 1962 in Grand Forks, ND. He is the sixth of seven children born to Gerald and Norma Haley. He grew up in Grand Forks, spending summers with his family at their cabin in Bemidji, MN. After graduating from Red River High School in 1980, Steve attended the University of North Dakota where he was a proud graduate of the University of North Dakota School of Aviation. Steve began flying at the age of 16. His love of flying provided many opportunities for him to skillfully fly many airplanes all over the world, most recently as a domestic pilot for Delta Airlines. The only thing Steve loved more than flying is his family. He married Betty (Roos), the love of his life on August 1, 1986. They had many wonderful adventures together, but none more enjoyable than raising their three incredible daughters. He was passionate about spending time with his family, golfing, boating, hiking, running, and relaxing with a great non-fiction book. Steve is preceded in death by his beloved father, Gerald Haley; his father-in-law, Palmer Roos; grandparents; and several aunts and uncles. He is survived by his broken-hearted wife, Betty; their three daughters, Annika Claire, Grace Elizabeth, and Sophia Louise; his mother, Norma Haley of Grand Forks; siblings, Deborah (Todd) Thorstad of Glenwood, MN, Jay (Deb) Haley of Grand Forks, Laurie Haley of Grand Forks, Kathy (Bob) Okerman of Claremont, CA, Kris (Brad Cobb) Haley of Glendale, CA, Mark (Bonnie) Haley of Grand Forks; mother-in-law, Ruth Roos of Grand Forks; many loving nieces, nephews, family, in-laws, and friends too numerous to mention. Unfortunately, due to Coronavirus restrictions attendance at the memorial service is limited. Should you wish to honor Steve’s memory, we ask that you hug your children, take a hike, play a round of golf, admire airplanes flying overhead, read a book, or have a cup of coffee with a chocolate chip cookie.
