ROWLEY, STEPHEN JOHN
Loving husband, father, grandfather
Age 78 of St. Paul died peacefully surrounded by his family on April 25, 2021. Born in Madison, Wisconsin, Steve graduated from the University of St. Thomas and the University of Wisconsin Law School, followed by a 33-year career in the 3M legal department. He cherished the time with his family most, but also loved working on remodeling projects at his home and those of his children. Steve’s love of music, especially played at a thunderous volume, sustained him. He loved to travel, meet new people and experience new cultures. Steve will be remembered for his love of life, his enthusiasm, optimism, his generous spirit, and his sense of humor which never left him even through his declining health. Preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Geraldine Rowley, his sister Judith Bowers, his father and mother-in-law Thomas and Carmela Bohen, and his brothers-in-law Gregory and Christopher Bohen. Survived by his loving wife Patricia (Trish), his sons Michael (Sarah) and David (Angela Fritz) of St. Paul, daughter Sarah Barrett (Jason) of Mendota Heights, and son Christopher (Christina Baelum) of Vejle, Denmark; his grandchildren Nathan and Carolyn Rowley, Joseph and Elizabeth Barrett, and Christian, Thomas and Benjamin Rowley Baelum. Survivors also include his brothers William Rowley (Marilyn) of Rio, WI and James Rowley of Waunakee, WI; brothers-in-law Michael Bohen of Greensboro, NC and James Bohen (Bonnie) of St. Paul, sister-in-law Marva Bohen of St. Paul, and numerous nieces and nephews. Private family services have been held. A celebration of his life is planned for a later date when covid restrictions will allow for safe gathering and travel.
