Shirley Tomasetti passed away peacefully on April 1, 2025, at the age of 92 in Woodbury, MN.
Born Shirley Diane George on August 5, 1932, she spent her childhood in Barrett, MN. Shirley was a graduate of the Northwestern School of Nursing in Minneapolis. While completing nursing clinical rotations in Hibbing, MN, she met and married the dashing Walter Tomasetti. Here they spent the majority of their lives together raising four children.
Shirley was a loving wife, mother, Gammie and great-Gammie who enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, knitting, weaving, quilting, camping, fishing, and spending time with her family. She was especially fond of current events and always enjoyed a passionate debate on politics.
Shirley is preceded in death by Walter, her loving husband of 63 years; siblings Dorothy, Robert and Judy; and granddaughter Geneva. She is survived by her children; Merryn Felhaber (Tod), Robert Tomasetti (Kathy), Kristi Sullivan (Kevin) and Beth Anderson (Scott); grandchildren Christy, Carrie, Collin, Bethany, Erin and Ivy; and nine great grandchildren.
A private burial will be held at Fort Snelling at a later date. Shirley will be deeply missed by all.
