Rosemary M. Manderfeld was born to August and Rose Duban on May 16, 1935 in St. Paul, MN. Passed away on April 7, 2021 in Milwaukee, WI. She met her husband Frank at a Catholic youth group. They married on June 24, 1961 and enjoyed 48 years together with their eight children. She is survived by Margaret, Ellen, Mary Linehan (Tim), David (Jan), Edward (Laurie), Gerry (Cheryl), Stephen (Anna), grandchildren Paul, Shannon, Emily, Lexi, Francis and Donald, sister Carol Klein (John), Judy Ronnei, brother Gearld (Jean), and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, eldest son Donald, and brother-in-law Mike Ronnei. She devoted her life to her children and family and was very proud of the loving, connected family she created with Frank. She adored her grandchildren and decorated her home with their photos, awards and art. Rosemary will be remembered for her playful, silly spirit and love of adventure. She loved surprises, gifts and flowers. She was skilled with yo-yo and slinky tricks. She regaled her family with stories of her days of ice skating, skiing and sledding. She never forgot a face and delighted in telling stories. When her children started to give her advice she would say, “OK, I have to hang up now.”
She and Frank were dedicated parishioners at St. Edwin’s Catholic Church in Washburn, ND. They loved praying the Rosary and the Hail Mary. They volunteered in many ways including delivering Meals on Wheels. Her heart went out to women and families in need, particularly during the holidays. She wasn’t content to donate just one item – she wanted to make sure that a family had everything they asked for.
Visitation will be Saturday April 17th at O’Halloran & Murphy, 575 S. Snelling Ave., St. Paul from 9AM-10:30 AM with a Mass of Christian burial at 11AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 515 Albert Street S., St. Paul. Interment Calvary Cemetery.
