Rondi Kay Purcell (nee Roberts), 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 13, 2025, with family by her side. After a five-year battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis, the disease took an aggressive turn for the last 5 weeks of her life.
Born, December 14, 1941. Preceded in death by parents, Guy and Viola Roberts and sister, Ramona Burr. The love of her life, Wade Purcell, passed away October 2024. Rondi is survived by daughters, Rachel (Michael) and Jamie (David), grandchildren; Kyle (Natalie), Cooper (Carley), Nathan and Blake, as well as, great granddaughters; Abigail, Madison & Reese.
Born in Sedalia, Missouri, the family later settled in Fort Scott, Kansas. Rondi married Wade, her high school sweetheart in 1960. They moved around the country due to Wade’s job opportunities. In many of the locations, Rondi worked a variety of office jobs, mostly in accounts payable/receivables. They resided in Hilliard, Ohio for over twenty-seven years where they were active with their condo community and various church groups. While in Ohio, Rondi joined the P.E.O. Sisterhood and held several leadership roles within the organization. The philanthropic group focuses on women motivating, educating and celebrating women.
Over her life, Rondi had a variety of hobbies and interests. She sewed, knitted & crocheted, was on bowling leagues, tried golf, played Bridge, Euchre and other card games. She loved cats and dogs and would have brought home more strays if she had been allowed. Rondi was a loyal and devoted friend and dedicated to her family. She made sure everyone had what they needed, kept the finances, provided nutritious meals, attended activities and always let us know we were loved.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if you would like to make a donation in Rondi’s honor, please consider: Salvation Army, St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church in Dublin, OH, P.E.O.
