March 10, 1926 to November 12, 2021 Of Merriam Park, St. Paul Passed away peacefully at the VA Hospital, on November 12, 2021. Our fantastic father of 10 children, 31 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren with 2 on the way, has transcended this world to join The Lord Jesus Christ our Savior and God, and earlier departed loved ones. Robert dearly loved his family, his Catholic faith and everyone he met. All who met him felt the same. Robert was born in Stambough, Michigan to Alma and Robert E. Osborne, and grew up at St. Cecilia's Parish and later met his future wife of 61 years, Anne B. Osborne (Mack). Robert joined the Navy at 17 and then was a cook in the Merchant Marines serving through WW II. They lived in Arden Hills and New Brighton, but later settled in St. Paul's Merriam Park neighborhood and St. Mark's Parish where they raised their family. Bob was an Electrician for many of his working years and a jack of all trades. Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife Anne, son Daniel Osborne, parents, 2 brothers and a sister. He is survived by his cherished children: Kathleen (Kitty) (Glenn) Norstrem, Suzy (Jim) Kelley, Mary (Mike) Mishou, John (Jean) Osborne, Steve Osborne, Tim (Sandy) Osborne, Julie (Pat) Eastman, Paul Osborne and Patrice (Mike) Palmer, 31 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren with 2 on the way, 1 sister, Carol (Jim) Krey of Vadnais Heights, MN, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Robert had many interests. He and Anne were excellent dancers and their favorite song was "In the Mood". Dad enjoyed fishing, war stories he experienced, sharing childhood memories, listening to music, audio books, singing, cribbage, reading and bowling. Kentucky Fried Chicken and White Castle were among his many favorite foods. His sense of humor shined through and he always shared his smile and stories with everyone. The focus of Bob's life was his family and he was happiest surrounded by all of them. A celebration of Robert's life will be held in his honor at O'Halloran-Murphy Funeral Home, 525 Snelling Avenue South, St. Paul, MN 55105 on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral will be held at the Church of St. Mark, 2001 Dayton Ave., St. Paul, MN at 10:00 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior to the Mass on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2021. Burial will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery on Friday, Nov. 19, 2021 at 11:30 am.
