Robert “Bob” Kreitz
June 5, 1938 – October 31, 2025
Age 87
Bob left us early in the morning on Halloween surrounded by his family which was also his wife, Renee’s 87th Birthday. He was preceded in death by his parents Eva & Charlie Kreitz; siblings; Bill, George, and son-in-law Paul Dolan.
Bob is survived by his wife Renee, of 67 years, daughter, Kim Dolan and son, Jim Kreitz (Julie Fontaine); grandchildren, Rob (Rachel), Brian (Michelle), Michael (Abbey), Andrew, Courtney (Zack), great-grandchildren; Sophia, Henry, James, Benjamin, Charlie, Wren and Frankie; nieces & nephews, extended family, along with his Rodeo family where he was fondly known as Cousin Bob.
Bob was born in Rosemount, Minnesota, as a young boy moved with his family to a farm in Mendota Heights, until he landed in St. Paul, where he graduated from Monroe High School. He worked as a Machinist at Deluxe Check Printers for 37 years until he retired in September of 1993. After retirement he went to work for the World’s Toughest Rodeo for 25+ years, in which he received recognition for his commitment and dedication to the sport.
He met his wife Renee on a blind date; they raised their family and stayed in the Highland Park neighborhood for over 50 years. After they sold the family home, they moved in with daughter Kim.
His passion as a Beekeeper kept him busy, but his love for raising chickens gave him joy to bring baby chicks each Spring to the Pre-K and Kindergarten kids in the St. Paul schools. He educated them on the process from incubation to watching them hatch and ready for the farm. He looked forward to this every year providing this education for many decades. The kids knew him well and called him “Farmer Bob.”
His love was fierce for his grandkids, showing up for every game, piano recital, boy scouts or whatever event they had, he was there. He also enjoyed many years with the great-grandchildren who spent a lot of time with him.
His favorite past times were the Rodeo and being up North at the “Shack” where many memories were made. His real happy place was spent between both.
A special thanks to Allina Hospice Care, especially Joe.
