Age 80 of St. Paul

Passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 10, 2021. Preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Mary; siblings, George, Tom, Mary Jean, Patsy, and Donald. Survived by wife of 58 years, Kathleen Newton; children, Mark (Margaret), Joseph, Michael, Catherine, and Shannon (Travis); grandchildren, Michael, Adam, Andrew, Joseph, Jordan, Kayla, Avery, and Ryan. Ray was the owner of the Sportsmen’s Barbershop in St. Paul for 52 years. He enjoyed the interactions with all of his customers. He also enjoyed spending time with the grandkids, dog Gracie Rae, and working in his garden. Ray loved his family unconditionally. He was a proud member of Fire & Brimstone and was on the 1986 Vulcan Krewe. Red coats are optional. He will be dearly missed by all. Visitation Thursday, September 16 from 4-7pm at O’Halloran & Murphy Funeral Home, 575 S. Snelling Ave., St. Paul. Memorial service immediately following the visitation. Memorials preferred to the ASPCA or the Animal Humane Society. Private interment.
