Norman Lee Severson
Age 92 of Woodbury, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2023.
Norm was born and raised in Ames, IA. He served in the United State Navy during the Korean War, working in communications at the Pentagon. After his service, he worked as a communications manager at Burlington Northern Railroad for 42 years. His passions included daily walking, annual bike trail trips up North with family and golf. He spent over 40 years as a volunteer leader and mentor with the Boy Scouts. Norm was an active member of Transfiguration Catholic Church, where he sang as a member of the choir for over 20 years. His intelligence, kindness and love for his family will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary; daughter, Terri; and sister, Jean.
Norman will be missed by his wife, Florence; children, Britt, Wade, Tim (Becky), Jo, and Cindy (Steve); son-in-law, Dane; siblings, Ardis, Bev and Sheryl; 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation 4-8pm Monday, August 28 at O’Halloran & Murphy-Woodbury, 8700 Valley Creek Road. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30am Tuesday, August 29 at Transfiguration Catholic Church, 6133 15th St. N., Oakdale with visitation one hour prior to mass. Burial Resurrection Cemetery.
