Nora O’Connor
March 24, 1946 – May 23, 2026.
Nora O’Connor, beloved mother, sister, and grandmother; passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026 - at the age of 80.
Born on March 24, 1946, in St. Paul, Minnesota, Nora spent most of her life in the community she called home. She was the proud and devoted mother of her daughter, Ann McGrath. Nora is survived by Ann (Jason) and her cherished grandchildren, Connor, Kiley, and Madelyn, who brought her endless joy. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Nora O’Connor, and her sisters, Sheila and Mary.
Nora’s love of travel shaped a long and memorable career as a flight attendant with Delta Airlines. She embraced every opportunity to explore new places—and never passed up the chance to bring a little piece of those travels home, including her well-loved stories of suitcases filled entirely with Merlot from France. She had a deep appreciation for a good glass of red wine, especially a smooth Merlot, often enjoyed in the company of family and friends.
At home, Nora found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She was an avid gardener who lovingly tended her plants year-round—carefully bringing them indoors each winter and returning them outside every spring. She also had a special place in her heart for cats and shared her home with many beloved feline companions over the years.
In retirement, Nora cherished time spent with her family. Whether at the McGrath family lake home in the warmer months or enjoying winter days ice skating, she found her greatest joy in being surrounded by those she loved most.
Nora’s family is hosting a celebration of her life on Friday, June 26th, 2026 from 9:00-10:00AM with Catholic Mass immediately following at 10:00-11:00AM at Lumen Christi Catholic Church, 2055 Bohland Avenue, St. Paul, MN 55116.
Immediately following; please join the McGrath family for heavy appetizers and a toast to Nora at The Pool & Yacht Club, 1600 Lilydale Road, Lilydale, MN 55118.
