Michele McQuillan, (nee Flanagan)
Age 92 of St Paul
6/22/32 – 2/8/25
Died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on February 8, 2025.
Preceded in death by her husband James R. McQuillan, parents Dr. Harold and Margaret Flanagan, brother Butch, sister Mary Nordlund, brothers in law, Dr. James Nordlund and Dr. H. Thomas Hobday. Survived by her children Mike (Anne), Kevin(Meggan), Terri (Jim) Flom, Ann (Mike) Stodolka, Jim (Jennie), Sheila (Dennis)Czech, Dan (Patty), Pat (Kelly), 38 Grandchildren and their 21 spouses, and 66 Great Grandchildren. Also survived by sisters Kathleen Hobday, Patty (Jim) Bowman, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Born and raised in St. Paul, she was valedictorian at Convent of the Visitation High School, attended Rosary College and the University of Minnesota where she graduated with a PhysicalTherapy degree. She married Jim in 1954, and they raised 8 children together. Her life was centered on her faith and family. Her Physical Therapy career included Miller Hospital, Gallery PT, and the VA.
Michele lived her life prayerfully and without judgement one day at a time totally aware of what was around her.
A woman of great humility, she was a confidant who provided wisdom and comfort. She shared her faith, love and humor with the large McQuillan clan at the cabin and the many school/sporting events she attended to watch her children and grandchildren.
Visitation Sunday, Feb 23, 3-6 PM at O’Halloran and Murphy, 575 Snelling Ave, S, St. Paul. Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM Monday, Feb 24 at the Church of The Assumption, 51 Seventh Street W., St. Paul. Mass will be live streamed here. Private Burial at Resurrection Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to Visitation School, Jim McQuillan Memorial Scholarship at Cretin-Derham Hall, Our Lady of Peace Hospice, or donor’s choice.
