Michele Bennett Obituary

Michele C. Bennett, age 71, of Oakdale, passed away on November 29, 2025, after a courageous and heartbreaking journey with Frontotemporal dementia (FTD).

Michele was born on August 27, 1954, in St. Paul, MN, and was a proud graduate of Johnson High School, Class of 1972. She cherished friendships that began as early as elementary school and continued to cultivate lifelong bonds throughout her life.

In 1976, Michele began her career with Ramsey County, following in her mother’s footsteps as a social worker. Over the decades, she worked with many teams and touched countless lives—both those of the people she served and the colleagues she cherished. She retired in 2019, proud of the difference she had made in her community.

Michele and her husband, Lu, shared 46 years of marriage until his passing in April 2023. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, and traditions. Michele was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and grandmother. She found joy in sewing, gardening, shopping, scrapbooking, and watching Hallmark movies. A family favorite was gathering for Sunday night dinners at House of Wong. She also loved traveling—enjoying cruises, winters in Arizona, and special trips to Disney with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Richard Bennett and Kristina (Dan) Teeter; her beloved grandchildren, Aaron Joel, Hannah Bennett, and Sophia Teeter; her sisters, Diana Sullivan and Marilyn (Tom) Schuh.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Luverne Bennett; her parents, Michael and Eva Marie Macalus; and her brother-in-law, Steve X Sullivan.

Michele will be laid to rest at Guardian Angels Cemetery in Oakdale, MN.
A private service will be held for immediate family.
