Mike had a passion for watching, playing, and coaching sports. As a child, Mike played sports for the Northeast Boosters Badgers and Edison High School. After he got married, he coached his children for many years and volunteered at athletic events. As his kids got older, Mike enjoyed bowling on a team with his family and became a fan of breweries, driving around Minnesota to discover new types of beer. Mike’s second family were his co-workers at Owens and Minor where he worked for 10 years. Mike had the kindest and most generous heart. Mike never gave up – he was the last to leave the field, the last to leave work, the last to drive away so no one was stuck doing anything alone. No matter what Mike did, his kids were the center of his universe. He never let them down, went out of his way to make sure they had everything they needed, and always put their needs before his own. Mike battled cancer and lived out his last days as he lived his life. He never gave up and lived life until the end.
