Kathie passed away on December 30, 2021 at her longtime home with her family by her side.
She was born on May 30, 1931 to Frank and Helen Hartsock in lowa City, lowa. She moved to Bloomington, MN as a young adult where she resided the rest of her life. Kathie brought two daughters into the world who gave her many grandchildren as well as great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Helen Hartsock, stepmother Thelma Hartsock, sister Connie Besold, husband Al Fritz, daughter Connie Morgan and great granddaughter Fiona Burke. She is survived by her daughter Lauri (Jim) Horn, grandchildren Jason Grieger, Aaron (Courtney) Huston, Sal (Vira) Le, Luke (Kristy) Grieger, Erica (John) O'Halloran, Sarah Burke, Michelle (Sean) Grieger, 15 great grandchildren and last but not least her two dogs Callie and Reggie who were loyal to her and she to them.
Kathie had several different careers and finally found her calling with her job at Hennepin County Services until she retired. Kathie loved horses and played the flute in her early years and then transitioned to baking and was most known for her chocolate chip cookies and Crème Brulèe. Her hobbies included karate and tap dancing. She loved to read and working the crosswords and cryptograms. Kathie and Al traveled the world together to places such as Egypt, Africa, Switzerland, Russia, Amsterdam, Belgium, Italy, Greece, Spain, Morocco, they even sailed in the Mediterranean on a mega-yacht sailboat. They lived life to the fullest and were best friends and their love ran deep.
A visitation with sharing of memories will take place 10 am - 12 Noon Monday, January 10 at O’Halloran & Murphy Funeral Home, 575 Snelling Ave. S., St. Paul. Private interment at Prairie Oaks Memorial Eco Garden at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
