Mary Jo Fogarty

July 2nd, 1943 – August 27th, 2023 Our beloved JoJo embraced her battle with Alzheimer’s just as she did her life, with grace and tenacity. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lillian and Dr. Charles W. Fogarty Jr.; and her brother, John Fogarty.

Mary Jo is survived by her children, Molly Emmer (Jack), Susan, John (Jennifer Mattocks) and Jennifer (Ben Lexau); her cherished grandchildren, Elizabeth, Lucy and Maggie Emmer; Oskar, Louie and Addy Nord; Charlie, Timmy and Teddy Torinus; Henry, Kenna and Ruby Lexau; special friend and caregiver, Molly Keeley; and siblings, Sharon Fogarty, Judy Tataryn (Orest), Charles Fogarty III (Harriet) and Kristi Petralia (Jim).

She attended St. Mark’s elementary school and Visitation High School, where she made wonderful memories and lifelong friends, followed by St. Catherine University.

In addition to success in real estate investment and interior design, Mary Jo spent a large part of her professional years in the service of others, helping individuals address and overcome chemical dependency and mental health challenges.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 30th, 2023 at the Church of the Assumption, 51 7th St W, St Paul, MN. Visitation one hour prior to Mass at church.
