Mary Ellen Malone

Age 88, of St. Paul

Born April 22, 1935 to Stephen and Anne Malone, died unexpectedly November 14, 2023 at Our Lady of Peace Hospice.

Predeceased in death by her parents; brother, James Malone and nephew, Stephen Stroh. She will be missed by her siblings, Kathleen Stroh (Benedict) and Fr. John Malone; sister-in-law, Kathy Malone; nieces and nephews, Anne Oswald (Brent), Jim Malone (Angie), Molly Docken (Jon), John Stroh (Shannon), Katie Malone, Caroline Stroh.

Mary Ellen graduated from the St. Cloud School of Nursing in 1956 and worked at St. John’s Hospital in the recovery room for 42 years. After retirement she continued to be an extraordinary person of service to others. She volunteered at Dorothy Day Center, Listening House, Little Sisters of the Poor, Loaves and Fishes and Assumption Church. Short of stature and quiet of voice she impacted many. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation Saturday, November 25 from 9:30-11:00am followed by Funeral Mass at 11:00am at Assumption Church, 51 7th Street West, St. Paul. Private interment Guardian Angels Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Our Lady of Peace and Little Sisters of the Poor.
