Mary Ann (Lape) Corbey

Mary Ann Corbey (nee Lape)

Age 94, of the Como neighborhood of St. Paul, Mn, passed away on June 30th, 2026 at the Lyngblomsten Care Center. Born on November 17, 1931 in St Paul, Mn, she was the child of Cyril and Bessie Lape. She graduated from St Joseph’s Academy in 1949 and went on to a career in banking, ending at Midway Bank. Married to Eugene Corbey in 1959, they lived in the same house in the Como neighborhood for 60 years. They were long time members of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. At St. Rose, Mary Ann volunteered for funeral luncheons and made many longtime friends. Known for her positive spirit, she had a way of bringing out the best in people. Mary Ann would often meet someone for the first time and later say, “He/She is a neat, neat guy/gal!” Mary Ann and Gene had no children of their own, so her nieces/nephews and grand(nieces/nephews) became her children. The love they shared with "AMA” became that of a mother/grandmother. In their eyes, Aunt Mary Ann was a “neat, neat gal!” Mary Ann is survived by many grateful nieces/nephews and grand(nieces/nephews). She was preceded in death by her husband Gene, sister Dorothy Bush, and brother Jack Lape.

Visitation at St. Rose of Lima Church (2048 Hamline Ave North, Roseville, MN) at 9am on Friday, July 24. Mass of Christian Burial at 10am. Luncheon to follow. Burial at 1pm at Roselawn Cemetery.
