Mary Suzanne Starks

Mary Suzanne Starks passed away October 25th, 2025. She was 67 years old. She is survived by her loving son, Christopher James Starks. 

My mom was born January 8th, 1958. On that day a strong and true fighter was born. She fought to survive being adopted. She fought for her little brother when he was picked on. We almost died when she gave birth to me, but she fought to save us both. She fought to make sure I had everything I needed when I was growing up. She fought cancer for as long as she could. When she was diagnosed in 2023, they gave her 6 months. She said to me and the doctors, I will beat that and she did. She fought so hard for 2 years. 

Even though she was a fighter, she was also a kind, gentle and loving person. She loved animals and they loved her. They just flocked to her because they knew she was a gentle soul. My mom’s family had a pony named Queen. My mom was the only one who could ride her, she bucked everyone else off. 

I know the world has lost a gentle caring soul, who wanted the best for everyone. You will be missed, I love you mom. 

A visitation will be held for Mary on Wednesday, November 12th from 5-8pm at Roseville Memorial Chapel (2245 Hamline Ave N., Roseville MN 55113) with a funeral service to be held the next day on Thursday, November 13th at the chapel - 11am with an hour visitation prior. Burial will follow at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
