Mary Shannon Obituary

Mary Beth Shannon died peacefully at home April 26, 2021 at the age of 75.

She was born in Hazleton, PA on July 20, 1945 and grew up in Valley City, ND.  She led a rich and wonderful life with her husband Daniel, to whom she was married for 55 years.  Together they lived in Roseville, MN since 1973.

Mary Beth was a wonderful artist, musician, and a friend to many.  She enriched many lives with her kindness and empathy.  It is impossible to capture how special she was to so many people but those who knew her understood.  She had the unique ability to make everyone she met feel valued.

In addition to her husband, Daniel, she is survived by her sons, Patrick and David, and their spouses, Eileen and Jennifer, who won the jackpot for best Mother-in-law ever.  She is also survived by her brothers Thomas Klein and Kevin Klein;  three grandchildren, Elizabeth “Beth” Moss, Kevin Shannon, and Oona Shannon; as well as one great grandchild, Emma Moss, who she was able to meet just recently, giving her joy as her life was near its end.

Mary Beth was preceded in death by her father and mother, Clifford and Elizabeth Klein, and her brothers Jay Klein and Michael Klein.

For her final epitaph to her knitting friends she had these words, “Yarn for sale....”

To all of us she asked that we “Be kind to each other.”

Mary Beth’s family is grateful to her physicians, Dr. Bronagh Murphy and Dr. Fredrick Ferris and their teams for the care given over 22 years.

A celebration of Mary Beth’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 15th at Midland Hills Country Club at 6:00pm.
