Mary Frances Parnell

Mary Frances Parnell (née Sutmar) passed from this life on March 19, 2021. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Lawrence Parnell, her parents, Clarence and Jessie Sutmar, her brother William Sutmar and sister-in-law Cynthia Sutmar and her brother-in-law Thomas Parnell (LuAnn) and sister-in-law Jacqueline Bannitz (Chuck), her great-grandson, Malcolm Brian Williams and her nephews William Sutmar, Steven Sutmar and Matthew Sutmar. Mary is survived by her children, Barbara Tisdle (Brian), Laura Parnell (Martin Meysembourg), Richard Parnell Jr. (Melonne), Sheila Walsh (Patrick), Karen Crowley (Andrew), Margaret Hogan (George Jr.), Nancy Parnell (Franz Zwergl) and her grandchildren, Brian Tisdle Jr. (Zobeida), Shyrisse Tisdle, Louis Meysembourg, Marie Meysembourg, Natalie Parnell, Audrey Parnell, Seamus Walsh, Liam Walsh, Evan Walsh, Vivienne Crowley, Genevieve Crowley, George Hogan III, John Hogan, Nora Hogan and her great-grandchildren, Iliana Tisdle, John Williams and Regina Williams. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, LuAnn Parnell and brother-in-law Patrick Parnell and sister-in-law Katie Parnell and her beloved nieces, grand-nieces, nephews and grand-nephews and so many wonderful friends. Mary attended St. Mark’s Catholic elementary school, St. Joseph’s Academy for high school and St. Catherine University. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her Catholic faith was her guiding light and she was a life-long member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church in St. Paul, Minnesota as well as a member of Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Woodbury, Minnesota. Mary also was a wonderful teacher, serving St. Paul Public Schools as a full-time substitute elementary teacher for nearly twenty-five years. She was a tireless volunteer including as a tutor to struggling students and particularly enjoyed her time in adoration groups at both churches and her time working in the garden at Guardian Angels.
