Mary Geditz Obituary

Geditz, Mary K. age 77 of St Paul and Mansfield, SD passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on April 23, 2026.  Preceded in death by her late husband Del Boehm; parents, Emmett and Eileen Ryan and stepdaughter, Deborah Pease.  She is survived by her husband, Gerald, daughter, Jennifer (Chad) Sexauer; brother Kevin (Michelle) Ryan grandchildren, Cade and Brynn; Gerald’s children and grandchildren; nieces, Julie (Tim) Moen and their children Max and Josie, Katie (Damon) Ryan and their children Tesah and Owen and Mike (Heather) Ryan.

Mary worked for 40 + years in telecommunications she started as a telephone operator working her way through msany management and sales positions.   with Northwestern Bell, AT&T, Lucent and other telecommunications companies.  Her most important accomplishment was being a mother and grandmother, her faith was strong, she was committed to social justice and giving back through volunteering. She enjoyed social gatherings, wine, fine dining, a good book and connecting with friends and family.  A city girl for most of her life, but in her late 60’s she embraced a change of pace when she married the love of her life Gerald Geditz and moved to Mansfield, SD to ranch alongside Gerald. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday May 1, 10:00 Am at Lumen Christi Catholic Church, 2055 Bohland Ave, St. Paul with 1 hour visitation prior to the Mass.  Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Ipswich, SD.  A huge thank you the medical team at Mayo Oncology, MN Oncology – Woodbury and most importantly Allina Hospice team, especially nurse Joe for providing Mary a peaceful transition to heaven.

In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
