Mary Fryer

Mary Fryer, nee Youngs, age 83 of Lake Elmo, MN passed away peacefully at home on August 31, 2025.

Mary was born on December 12, 1941 in Minot, ND to parents Ralph and Irene Youngs.

Mary spent her younger years in Roseglen, ND before moving to Tracy, MN where she attended high school. Her business school studies brought her to Mankato, MN before landing in St. Paul. She had a dedicated career in the airline industry working for Northwest Airlines, Delta and Wings Financial Credit Union before retiring in 2008. Mary was a devoted wife and mother and a caring friend to many. Mary had many interests and hobbies – a love of gardening, cooking, fishing, hunting, spending time with friends and family, and attending the state fair. She was an avid volunteer sharing her time with a number of organizations, including Northwest Airlines History Center, Northwest Airlines Sportsmen’s Association, Minnesota Teamsters Retiree Club, and serving as an Election Judge.

Preceded in death by parents, Ralph & Irene Youngs, sister Kathy Desrocher, daughter Veronica Fryer, and sister-in-laws, Pat Youngs and Pat Shanklin.

Mary is survived by her loving daughter, Diane Mahalla (Jeff) of Lake Elmo, MN, brother Bill Youngs of Monticello, MN as well as grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many close relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Oak Marsh Golf Course in the Willow Room, 526 Inwood Ave N, Oakdale, MN.  Visitation 10:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. Service 1:00 P.M.
