Martha Mary Becker (née Schmidt)
Age 95 of St. Paul
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on July 25, 2025.
Martha will be forever missed by her four children Joseph (Marcie), Steven, Thomas (Jan) and Suzanne (Jim Casper). She leaves to cherish her memory, her eleven grandchildren Patrick (Tyler Christensen), Maria (Zach Carron), Anna (Chris Captain), John Paul, Elizabeth (Nick Gustafson), Katherine (Joel Vanderveen), Margaret (Theodore Bowie), Sarah (Alex Syverson) Becker, Michael (Jessica), Jack and Robbie Casper; and three great-grandchildren Margot, Madeline, and Jamie.
Preceded in death by Donald, her husband of 64 years; parents Leo and Gertrude Schmidt; and sister Ellen Kalis.
Martha spent her career as an x-ray technician for local hospitals and retired after 20 years at 3M. She cared deeply for her family in every aspect of life, but especially through the love she poured into her cooking — Nourishing the whole family not just with meals, but with warmth, tradition and togetherness around the table. She especially enjoyed time spent with family and friends at the cabin in Crosslake, MN.
Join us in the celebration of Martha’s life: Mass of Christian Burial 11am Wednesday, July 30 at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, St. Paul, with visitation one hour prior. Burial at Resurrection Cemetery. The mass will be live-streamed at www.nativitystpaul.org
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Mayo Clinic’s Alzheimer's Research or College of St. Benedict. The family is grateful for the caregivers and hospice staff of Carondelet Village for providing exceptional care.
