Marjorie E. “Marge” Zugschwert of St. Paul, passed away peacefully on May 12. Marge, 90, was born to Reverend Trygve and Agnes Dahle on September 27, 1932 in Wannaska, MN. One of six children, her family moved around northern MN and ND until settling in Spicer, MN where she attended Willmar High School. She moved to Minneapolis to attend Augsburg College and realized city life was for her. She met the love of her life, Gene Zugschwert on a blind date and never looked back. Gene and Marge settled in St. Paul and raised 9 children. Their house was always open for family gatherings and parties with friends. She had a beautiful voice and was always singing and playing the ukulele and instilled a love of music and the arts in her children. She loved to travel and never had fewer than 2 jigsaw puzzles going at one time. She was a devout Catholic and found great comfort in her faith. She adored her children and grandchildren and had many wonderful friends.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband Eugene; her parents, stepmother Anna Marie; brothers Trygve and Olaf; sisters Adelene and Norma Knutson; and son Paul. She is survived by her brother Ron (Esther); children Anne (Andy) Garner, Paul’s wife Renee, Jim (Nancy), Linda (John) Exline, Sara, Jane, John (Stephanie), Tom (Colleen Tusa) and Joe (Maria); grandchildren Kate (Kaleb) Stattmiller, Allison (David) Gross, Stewart Schuster, Logan (Susan) Schuster, Jess Garner, Drew (Katie) Garner, Kim Z, Mike (Rachel) Z, Chris (Alison) Z, Dan (Danielle) Z, Kevin (Laura) Z, Jeff (Molly) Z, Kyle (Melissa) Z, David Z, Mara Exline, Jack Exline, Derrick Mottaz, Andy Mottaz, Martin Z, Lily Z, Mitch Z, Nick Z, Lauryn Z, Heather Z, Amanda Z, Elijah and Charlie Anderson, JoJo Becker; 17 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is on Thursday, May 18, 4-8pm at O’Halloran & Murphy, 575 Snelling Ave S., St. Paul and on Friday, May 19, 10am at Lumen Christi Catholic Church, 2055 Bohland Ave., St. Paul followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Mass will be livestreamed, https://lumenchristicc.online.church/
