Marie F. (Cognetta) Zobel

Marie was born in St Paul, MN in 1938. On June 29, 2026, she peacefully passed away with family by her side. Marie was a long-time teacher with the St Paul Public School system and taught many students who could not be part of the normal school day by teaching them at home or in the hospital and then later in her career moved to helping students trying to get back into a normal school setting. From time to time, she would run into former students and always took the time to catch up with them. After retirement she spent time tending to her rose bushes, knitting or crocheting Christmas stockings but never would miss her daily paper with coffee, soap operas and Sudoku. Marie also enjoyed each year making cookies with her Granddaughter Christina. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Flora Cognetta. She is survived by her children, Paul and Carolynn (Bob) Audette, and her granddaughter, Christina Audette. In honor of her wishes, there will be no service. A private committal service will be held at Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marie’s honor to TPT PBS (Twin Cities PBS).
