Marian Rae Koskela, 80, of Roseville, Minnesota, passed away on October 12, 2025, surrounded by love and cherished memories. Marian was born February 15th, 1945 and lived a life defined by kindness, strength, and devotion to those she loved. As a mother, she was a constant source of support and comfort—always ready with an encouraging word, a listening ear, or a warm embrace. Her laughter was infectious, her generosity boundless, and her calm presence a refuge for family and friends alike.
She is survived by her two children Pamela Koskela and Brent Koskela (Nicole); her two grandsons Connor Koskela and Caleb Koskela, brother Randall Prouse (Sylvia); and many other family members.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Gerald Koskela, parents Raymond and Marie Prouse. Marian’s life was full of meaningful connections and quiet impact. She loved spending time with her family, she worked as a cook within the Roseville school district prior to retirement. Her memory lives on in the lives she touched, the small kindnesses she extended, and the example she set of grace under pressure. Though she is deeply missed, Marian’s warmth, love, and legacy will continue to guide those who knew her. May we honor her by showing the same compassion, patience, and generosity she offered in abundance.
“This is not goodbye but, It’s See You Later!”
A funeral service to celebrate Marian’s life will be held at 11:30am on Tuesday, October 21st at Roseville Memorial Chapel, 2245 Hamline Ave. N. Roseville with a visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
