Marguerite "Margaret" Maeurer Obituary

Nee Chretien, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2021 at The Pillars of Highland Park. Preceded in death by her husband, Dr. John Maeurer; her parents, Edward and Julia Chretien; her sister, Jayne (Chretien) Alexander; and her brothers-in-law, Robert O’Keefe and Firmin Alexander. Marguerite was born in Biddeford, ME, grew up in Minneapolis, MN, and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1947. She married John Maeurer at St. Helena’s Church in Minneapolis on April 24, 1954 and after John’s two year term of military service in Cheyenne, WY, they moved back to St. Paul in 1956. They raised their family living in Highland Park and in West St. Paul. Marguerite is survived by her children, Paul (Karleen) Maeurer, Marie Walker (Ken Genz), Debra Maeurer (Mark Anfinson), and Linda (Tom) Heuer; grandchildren, Kelly (Amanda) Walker, Jessica (Neal) Mikacevich, Daniel (Melissa) Anfinson, Luke (Katie) Anfinson, Lucy Anfinson, Alexandra Heuer, Katherine Heuer, Elizabeth Heuer, and four great grandchildren; her sisters-in-law, Lucille O’Keefe and Janet Alexander and a host of other relatives and friends.  Marguerite was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker with special talents as a seamstress. She enjoyed nothing more than being with her family sharing a meal or traveling on many family trips. She was a proud, lovely woman of 100% French descent and a highlight for her was that she was able to travel to France with her family later in life. A special thanks to the nurses and staff at The Pillars of Highland Park. Their care of Marguerite was extraordinary. Mass of Christian Burial 10AM Friday, April 16 at The Church of St. Louis, King of France (506 Cedar St., St. Paul) with Visitation at 9AM prior to Mass at the church on Friday. Private family burial at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Cretin-Derham Hall, the Animal Humane Society or the Church of St. Louis.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
