Olson, Mae Ruth, Age 89 of Fort Myers, FL, and formerly Arden Hills, MN, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday morning, April 7, 2026. She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Daniel, sons Stanley, Michael and Kelvin, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren plus many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents Oscar & Ruth Solie, brothers David and Earl, sisters Helen and Leona.
Mae grew up in Lengby, MN, the youngest of five children. She graduated from Fosston High School, class of ’54, and moved to St. Paul shortly thereafter. Mae loved to entertain and hosted numerous family gatherings at home and at their lake home on Gull Lake, Brainerd, MN.
Never wanting to be the center of attention, she was always most comfortable being in the kitchen, often singing along to the hymns her husband played on the piano. She loved to read books of all kinds, and, of course, her Bible. She was best at baking and won the Sweepstakes award at the MN state fair for her “breakfast rolls”.
After more than twenty-five years of seasonal commuting between Gull Lake and Naples, FL, she and Dan moved to Shell Point Retirement Center where she spent the last years of her life.
A memorial service for Mae will be held on Sunday, June 28th at 3pm with an hour visitation prior at Roseville Memorial Chapel (2245 Hamline Ave N, Roseville, MN 55113).
