Luella L. "Lu" Zibell,

Zibell, Luella L. (Lu), age 88 of Arden Hills, on May 28, 2025. Survived by daughter and son-in-law Deanne & Christopher Weber, grandchildren Anna & Thomas Weber, sister- in-law Mary Lepisto, brother-in-law Les Zibell, and several nieces & nephews. Preceded in death by husband Donald (in 2024); parents Gustaf & Alma Lepisto; siblings: Russell (Helen) Lepisto, Winifred (Emil) Porkkonen, and Rodney Lepisto; and nieces and nephews. Lu grew up in New York Mills, Minnesota and married Don in 1967. They were longtime residents of Roseville and Shoreview; she volunteered tirelessly for her church and many organizations in the area, including Friends of Roseville Parks, Lutheran Social Services (LSS), Lyngblomsten, Patchwork Theater (now Rosetown Playhouse), Luther Seminary, and the ELCA. Lu was well known for her birthday and wedding cakes. In 2007, Don and Lu were recognized as Roseville volunteers of the year, and at LSS’s annual gala in 2010, Lu was awarded with the Changing Lives Award. In 2019 Don & Lu were given the Anna Quale Fergstad Award for Distinguished Service at the Lyngblomsten President’s Dinner. Funeral service 11am on Friday, June 13 at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Roseville. Visitation one hour prior to service at church. The service will be livestreamed and archived at https://www.youtube.com/@lcrelca. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, Friends of Roseville Parks, or Northfield Youth Choirs.
