Age 98 of St. Paul Minnesota

Born March 5, 1927, Died April 13, 2025

Lovely and lively. Spunky. Brilliant. Spitfire. Poetic writer. Determined. Kind. Stubborn. Clever. Snappy dresser. Firecracker. Mentor. Never looked her age. True friend. Honest to a fault. Awesome mother, grandmother and GG. Distinguished career as executive administrator in education, health care and city government. Long-time board member of Spire Credit Union and Professional Secretaries International. The last of the beloved HC Moms. Preceded in death by Bob Hammer, her husband of 67 years and the best human being she ever knew; and brothers Bill and Mike Hafner. Survived by son Bob (LeAnne) and granddaughter Angela (Jerry Watkins) and 3 great-grandsons and granddaughter Jennifer; son Jerry (Debby) and grandson Matt (Stephanie) and 3 great-grandchildren, and granddaughter Laura (Justin Bruhn) and two great-grandsons; daughter Mary Beth (Bruce Riebe), granddaughter Dana and grandson Erik; sister Mary Ann (Don) Pojar and sisters-in-law Gloria Hafner and Elaine Hafner; scores of nephews and nieces and hundreds of friends. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:33 a.m. Thursday May 1 at Holy Childhood Church, 1435 Midway Parkway, St. Paul, followed by celebration of Lu’s life in the church hall. Visitation at church one hour prior to Mass. Our thanks to the entire Lyngblomsten family for embracing Lu with outstanding care and love.
