Lois Steinworth, age 100, of Roseville, MN. Passed away on July 12, 2025, at her home in Eaglecrest Senior Living. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill and parents Florence and Samual Horton. She is survived by her children, Skip Steinworth (Linda), Carolyn Steinworth (Roger), and Susan Norton (Noel), as well as grandchildren, Boaz, Eric and Bailey. Lois fondly remembered growing up in the St. Paul Midway area, and swimming on Saturdays with her father at Lake McCarrons beach. She had various jobs as a clerk at The Golden Rule where she commuted downtown by streetcar, a war-time position at Northwest Airlines, teaching preschool in Pasadena, CA where the Rose Parade went down their street, and her work at the Roseville, MN City Hall. Her Swedish heritage was a proud topic with stories of Uncle Andy Newgren immigrating as a boy to become a highly regarded lawyer on Paine Avenue. Lois was a journalist at heart and editor of her Wilson High School yearbook. Her friends there remained lifelong companions. After marriage, she and Bill enjoyed golf, bridge and traveling as snowbirds to Florida for thirty wonderful winters. They managed apartments built by Bill until retirement, acquired through years of personal sacrifice. Lois’ neighbors remained her source of happiness and their friendships filled her days with joy. She was always smiling, had a funny, very observant sense of humor, and will be sadly missed.
