Age 91 of Burnsville passed away January 8, 2025.
Born in 1933 to humble beginnings on the West end of St. Paul, Lloyd was educated through St. Francis de Sales Grade School and Cretin High School; he attended the U of M for 3 years before attending St. Paul College of Law and graduating from William Mitchell College of Law in 1958. He married Idereen Patricia McCall in 1954 and in 1958, they established their home in Ortonville, MN, where he practiced law. In 1963, they returned to St. Paul where Lloyd was appointed as a Special Assistant Attorney General by Walter Mondale. He represented the Water Pollution Control Commission from 1964-1965 and the Department of Highways from 1965-1996. After serving under 5 Minnesota Attorney Generals, Lloyd retired in 1996. In his retirement, he volunteered his time with Sharing and Caring Hands in Minneapolis and the Neighborhood Justice Center in St. Paul. Lloyd rejoiced in his wife, children, grandchildren and in his service to our fellow man. Survived by his 5 children Greg (Sue), John, Mary (Todd) Coolidge, Anthony (Jill), and Pam; 8 grandchildren; and his sister, Nancy (Frank) Kuettle. Preceded in death by his wife, Idereen “Pat”(née McCall); parents, Charles and Cecilia; siblings, Gordon (Rita), Donna Jean (John) Goulet, and Grant. Visitation from 4-7pm on Friday, January 17 at O’Halloran & Murphy, 575 Snelling Ave. S., St. Paul. Mass of Christian Burial to be held 11am Saturday, January 18 at Mary Mother of the Church, 3333 Cliff Rd. E., Burnsville with visitation one hour prior to mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Sharing and Caring Hands, Neighborhood Justice Center or Catholic Charities, Twin Cities.
