Preceded in death by husband, Janis “John” and sister, Maija Ritums. Survived by her son, Eriks (Barbara).  Will be missed by 4 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She carried special affection for her nephew, Eduards. Born in Valka, Latvia, Lidija and her family left Latvia and eventually emigrated to the United States.  She spent her high school years and met her future husband in a displaced persons camp in Augsburg, West Germany.  Lidija had two long careers as a buyer and a clerk, finally retiring at age 85. In her later years, she loved petting all the animals at the State Fair and sitting in the sun on her balcony and visiting with beloved friends and family. Funeral will be held Monday, August 18, 2025 at Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church of Minneapolis-St. Paul, 3152 - 17th Ave. S, Minneapolis, MN 55407.  Visitation from 10-11 a.m., Service at 11am.  Her ashes will be interred at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on Wednesday, August 20 at 9:15am, Assembly Area #6.
