Lee Keller Obituary

Lee J. Keller passed away unexpectedly in his sleep. He is survived by his wife, Sue Abderholden, and daughters Ona and Eva; siblings Jim (Patricia), Jeanne (Mike), Robbie, Mimi, and Joel (Betty) and his brothers-in-law Ed, Frank (Sue), Jim (Linda), Guy (Juliann) and sister-in-law Anne Marie; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Adrian and Marilyn Keller, in-laws Edward and Dolores Abderholden, and brother-in-law Mark Abderholden.

Lee grew up in Roseville behind, as he liked to say, the Har Mar Mall. He graduated from the U of MN and William Mitchell Law School. He specialized in workers' compensation law, and he thoroughly enjoyed being a mediator on these issues for the MN Dept of Labor these last few years. He loved the state fair, cross country skiing, camping, reading, and watching black and white WWII movies.

He married the love of his life on October 25, 1980, where they danced until dawn. He loved being a dad and was one of the first male lawyers to take paternity leave at his firm. Road trips with his family, cooking together and playing games were things he enjoyed. He knew an incredible number of useless facts, told bad dad jokes, and enjoyed sharing stories. His Wednesday beer “evening” with the guys was something he looked forward to.

Lee lived with depression, anxiety and more recently myasthenia gravis. His kind gentle spirit will be missed.

A public visitation will be held 2-5pm Saturday, June 5 at O’HALLORAN & MURPHY, 575 S. Snelling Ave. St. Paul.  Memorials to NAMI Minnesota, www.namimn.org
