Schreifels, Lawrence "Larry", age 78, of Roseville, MN, passed away on September 3, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Larry was born on January 14, 1947, in St. Cloud, MN, to Gilbert and Genevieve Schreifels. He grew up in St. Anthony Park, graduated from Murray High School in St. Paul in 1965 and earned his Boiler License from St Paul TVI. He proudly served in the National Guard and went on to become a bricklayer. Larry later worked as an operating and maintenance engineer at Riverview Hospital and United Hosptial in St. Paul, where he dedicated 35 years of service.
He had a passion for coaching football, hockey and softball at Langford Park. The Larry's Lemons girls' softball team won the St. Paul city Championship two years in a row. Larry enjoyed fishing, cabin time, and was a lifelong car enthusiast. A devoted sports fan, he cheered for the Minnesota Twins, Vikings, and University of Minnesota Golden Gophers. Larry loved dogs, and those who knew him will remember his kindness, humor, and willingness to lend a hand.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Genevieve. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Mary; daughters Laura (Doug and son Caleb) and Lynn; and granddaughter, Chloe. He is also survived by siblings, MaryAnn Bjork (Jim), Barbrara Jungmann (Tom), Debbie Schreifels, and Joyce Lehmann, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 4:00 - 8:00p.m. at Roseville Memorial Funeral Home, 2245 Hamline Avenue N., Roseville. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 18, at 10:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, at the St. Rose of Lima Church, 2048 Hamline Avenue N., Roseville. Interment Roselawn Cemetery, 803 W. Larpenteur Avenue, followed by Lunch at St. Rose of Lima Church.
