Landon YoojYim (Thao), of Woodbury, Minnesota, was born on September 21, 2012, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Landon passed away peacefully in his home, in his mother’s arm on March 20th, 2026. He was one day shy of being 13 and a half years old. Landon was deeply loved by his mother, family, friends, and his community.
Landon had an illuminating disposition, a happy and loving little human, always awaiting anyone with his infectious smile despite the many medical challenges that he faced daily from surviving shaken baby syndrome at fourth months old. He fought his many medical challenges including cerebral palsy, cortical blindness, scoliosis, asthma, hip dysplasia, cognitive and developmental impairment, hypoxic Ischemic encephalopathy, and chronic respiratory failure with courage and bravery.
Landon lived a good life, full of joy. He never let his medical conditions deter him from experiencing many things such as hiking, water parks, summer camp, going to work with mom, and even meeting the governor of Minnesota. Landon loved being outside on summer days, watching Frozen, and music. He loved the guitar and xylophone. He found that dishes clanking was extremely humorous. He enjoyed chocolate ice cream, soda pop, and lollipops He was his mother’s number one cheerleader at her volleyball games. His teachers shared that he would laugh when his classmates got in trouble and math was his favorite subject.
Landon had a meaningful life that impacted everyone he met. He was visible in every space he was in. He showed the world what it meant to exist outside of the social norms. He taught the world to be kinder, live softer, and to move with empathy.
Landon is survived by his mother, HaoPay Lee, his grandmother, Yer Moua, his aunt Haodra Yang (Shena Yang), his uncles Tor Tong Lee (Sheng Xiong), and Tia Tou Lee, and his cousins, Grace Lee and Theodore Lee.
