Kirstin Lundquist Obituary

Lundquist (nee Petersen)

Kirstin Elizabeth

Died peacefully surrounded by her husband, parents, brother, sister in-law and goddaughter on December 19, 2025.

Kirstin was a naturally happy spirit. She loved family and friends and always wanted to have them around. No matter what the activity, whether in sunshine or rain, you could always see her stunning blue eyes and winning smile along with hearing one of her favorite phases “This is so much fun”.

Until her cancer diagnosis, Kirstin was a first-grade teacher at St. Rose of Lima Catholic school in Roseville. She was known for being firm, but fun loving with her students. Every year in the Spring she would incubate ducks so her class could see the beauty and sometimes sadness of life. This became a popular time of year not just for her students, but for the entire school, as they would anticipate the eggs hatching.

She loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, and fisherwoman. She was also happy to sit by a fire and watch a good Hallmark movie, or Gilmore girls on TV.

Above all, Kirstins’ faith was a guiding force in her life. She loved the Lord deeply and lived her faith through kindness, compassion, and a genuine desire to share God’s love with everyone she met. Even in the hardest moments, her faith remained strong and unwavering.

Kirstin will be remembered for her warm heart, her joyful spirit, and the way she loved so fully and selflessly. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched, and in the memories held close by those who loved her most.

Survived by her husband Jack Lundquist, parents Tim and Therese Petersen, brother and sister in-law Ken and Lauren Petersen and goddaughter Becca, in-laws Bob Lundquist and Marjean Hagerty, brother in-law Will Lundquist and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Preceded in death, by her grandparents, Ken and Peg Petersen and Cy and Ann Brom, Aunt Marie Durbin, and Uncle Jim Durbin, and Cousins Dave James and Jenny Petersen.

Kirstin loved being with the animals, especially the horses, at Mend in Inver Grove Heights, and soon they will open The Bardo, a community supported end-of-life care home also located in Inver Grove Heights. She and Jack also spent a great deal of time at the Carpenter Nature Center in Hastings. Thus, in lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to thebardo.com, or carpenternaturecenter.org.
