Gorg, Kenneth R., age 86, of Burnsville, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026.
Preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Lorraine.
Survived by his beloved wife of nearly 60 years, Mary—the love of his life and his greatest partner in
everything. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and celebration, always going above
and beyond to make birthdays and holidays truly extraordinary for their children and grandchildren.
June 4 would have marked their 60th wedding anniversary.
Cherished father of Kevin (Krisi Bailey), Lara Olson (Mark), and Kelly Lopez (Robert); adoring
grandfather of Katarina (Brandon), Madelynn, Annika, Taylor Melby (Alex), Lauren, Nick, Billy, and
Tommy—his eight beloved grandchildren whom he treasured deeply; proud great-grandfather of Leo;
loving brother of Ronald (Kathleen) and David (Cindy); and dear brother-in-law of Patty Malone. He
will also be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Kenneth was the Head Golf Professional at Faribault Golf & Country Club for 40 years, a career
defined not only by his love of the game but also by his remarkable ability to bring people together.
He took great pride in organizing tournaments and fostering a golf community that knew him as both a
skilled professional and a warm, familiar presence.
His contributions to the game of golf were recognized throughout his distinguished career. Ken was
inducted into the PGA/MGA Hall of Fame in 2010 and was a member of the PGA for more than 60
years. He served as Minnesota PGA Section President from 1975 to 1976 and as a member of the National
Board of Directors from 1979 to 1981. He was honored as Golf Professional of the Year in both 1971
and 1975. In 1988, he opened Ken Gorg Golf in Lakeville/Burnsville, a successful golf shop that he
proudly owned and operated until 2006.
A proud alumnus of Cretin-Derham Hall Class of 1957, Attended the U of M, Kenneth served his
country in the United States Navy and carried that sense of duty, integrity, and pride throughout his
life. He also had a deep love for the Minnesota State Fair, an annual tradition that reflected his
appreciation for community, good food, and life's simple pleasures.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday June 4th at 10:00 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Church, 51 W. 7th Street, St. Paul, with visitation one hour prior to Mass. Luncheon to follow at Mancini's Char House. Interment at Calvary Cemetery.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Apple Valley Village Care Center for the
compassionate care, kindness, and support provided to Kenneth and his family.
Ken's legacy lives on through the family he cherished, the friendships he nurtured, and the countless
lives he touched both on and off the golf course.
