Anitzberger (Heiberger)
Kathryn Ann -77 years
With deep sadness, we announce the passing of our wife, mother and grandma at Regions Hospital on March 23rd without pain and suffering. Born in St. Paul, MN, to Gene and Eleanor (Cashman) Heiberger. Kathy attended St. Luke's and Nativity grade schools and graduated from Central High School in 1965. She performed secretarial duties at Buetow and Associates and later at Arch Bishop Appeals office located in the James Hill House. Kathy completed her career as a Registrar at Hill-Murray High School for 35 years before her retirement in 2013.
Kathy was Roger's dedicated, loving, patient wife for almost 56 years and a devoted mother to Tom and Jennifer (Anitzberger). She took great joy as an affectionate and proud grandma to Marissa (Anitzberger). Preceded by infant son Michael and Parents.
Kathy and Roger went to grade school together until 5th grade, when she moved to Highland Park. They didn't see each other until an enterprising Roger crashed a party in 1967, which she attended and the rest is history. They continued cruising University Ave, stopping at Porky's and dancing on Friday and Saturday nights at the Prom Center until it closed.
She enjoyed bowling until her knees said no more, solving word puzzles, sewing sequences on calendar kits, and creating Christmas stockings for family and friends, which gave her great joy and pleasure.
She was kind and generous, always thinking of others. Sending birthday, holiday, or anniversary cards or "just thinking of you" notes to show love and compassion to all who knew her. Never spoke ill of anyone. She will be remembered for her infectious smile and loving heart.
Survived by brother Steve Heiberger (Maryanne), sisters Peggy Heiberger and Barb Bishop (Jim), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Kathy was a strong and brave fighter against her challenges from kidney failure for over four years. Even while at Regions Hospital, she would sing "Over the Rainbow" and "Getting to Know You" until her last day (songs she sang to her granddaughter since she was first born). Music was a meaningful part of her life. She is now receiving her greatest reward in Heaven, where she can run and be with her son Michael, her mom and dad, and all those who left before her.
Service will occur Saturday, April 19 at O'Halloran and Murphy - 8700 Valley Creek Road, Woodbury. Gathering at 10:00am-11:30am with service at 11:30 and reception to follow. Kathy will laid to rest at Fort Snelling at a later date.
