Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Katy passed away on September 26, 2025 at age 59, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Katy is preceded in death by her daughter, Shannon Harris, her father, Jim Janssen, and brother-in-law David Hoeffel. Survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Joe Harris; their wonderful daughters Maria (Mitchell) May, and Monica (Evan Cocallas), and son Matthew; grandchildren Lucy, Lucas, and Ellie May; mother, Louise Janssen; siblings Steve (Melissa) Janssen, Greg (Judy) Janssen and Sue Hoeffel; many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends; and beloved dog, Harry. She worked for the St. Paul Public Schools for 30 years in special education. All that knew Katy, knew that her kindness and love had no boundaries. She kept life light and found a way to laugh at every opportunity. She cared deeply and always had an ear to listen. Katy always put family and friends first and taught those around her how to love selflessly. Visitation Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 4-7 pm at O'Halloran & Murphy Funeral Home (575 S. Snelling Ave., St. Paul, MN 651/698-0796). Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 A.M. on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church (324 S. Prior Ave., St. Paul) (visitation 1 hour prior at the church). Memorials preferred to Cretin-Derham Hall – Shannon Harris Memorial Fund.
