Harrington, Judith Elaine, age 82, of Woodbury passed away peacefully at home with family on August 9, 2025. Born November 11, 1942, to Helen Harrington and Elmer Haase, she spent her early childhood on the farm of her parents near Stillwater. She told many stories of the area around Stillwater, memories of her family, cousins, horses and the farm. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended Johnson High School after moving to St. Paul, then married and raised her children Paul and Beth in Maplewood. She learned shorthand and was proud to have worked many years for the St. Paul Police Department.
Judy traveled around the US, Europe and Hong Kong. She was particularly fond of all things English, especially tea, and visited England on multiple occasions. She enjoyed nature, walking, traveling up the North Shore, farmers’ markets, growing and canning tomatoes, reading, watching movies and hayrides at the apple orchard. She baked highly coveted bread rolls from scratch for the holidays, using an old family recipe. Her grandsons would dart off with one in each hand. She had whimsical tastes and treasured most of all spending time with her family and cats. She instilled in her children lifelong interests in libraries, museums and attending cultural events. A kind-hearted and gentle person, she will forever be remembered by those who knew her.
Judy courageously battled advanced non-Hodgkin lymphoma in 2010 and was declared cancer-free for over a decade. In early 2025 she was diagnosed with heart failure and later began home hospice.
Preceded in death by her parents and sister Shirley Powers of Fresno, CA. Survived by daughter Elizabeth Harrington of Woodbury, son Paul (Sharyn) Bramscher of Circle Pines and grandsons Stefan and Andreas Bramscher. Also survived by siblings Marge Lemke, John Haase, Mary Jordan and Dorothy Holstad. Half-siblings Linda (Ed) Pilgreen, Vicki Evers, Marilyn (Tom) Mueller, Edna (Ron) Rafferty, Daryl Haase, Brenda (Andy) Collins and many nephews, nieces, cousins and their families.
Memorials may be made to Feline Rescue in St. Paul. Visitation will be held at O’Halloran & Murphy Funeral Home in Woodbury on 8700 Valley Creek Rd. September 14th, 1-3 pm.
